Siobhan Kirk is one of only two doctors in Northern Ireland recognised as a ‘menopause specialist’ by the British Menopause Society. She works in the only dedicated NHS menopause service in Northern Ireland and has recently developed The Maypole Menopause Clinic in partnership with Kingbsbridge Private Hospital. This clinic is the first exclusive private menopause clinic in Northern Irel
Dr Kirk is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare.
She has presented research at national and international conferences, is regularly invited to speak at local Women’s Health meetings and teaches menopause care to GPs and gynaecologists in Northern Ireland. Menopause in the workplace is topical and in collaboration with the Human resources department in Belfast HSC Trust Dr Kirk has developed an online menopause toolkit for staff and managers. Women may spend over a third of their lives after the menopause and are now talking more openly about their experiences.

I am an Associate Specialist in Gynaecology in Belfast HSC Trust and one of two senior doctors running the regional HRT Clinic based in the Mater Hospital-the only specialist NHS clinic in Northern Ireland. I run 3 clinics per week (3000 consultations per year) looking after a variety of patients with premature ovarian insufficiency, early menopause as a result of cancer treatment or genetic condition eg Turner Syndrome , women with complex medical problems requiring specialist HRT advice, and women with side effects/problems with HRT.
I regularly teach junior doctors, gynaecologists and GPS on menopause and women’s health both in my clinic and at regional meetings. Menopause in the workplace is topical and I have recently collaborated with the Human Resources team in Belfast HSCT Trust to develop an online menopause toolkit for managers and staff.
