Gillian grew up and studied in London. In 1993, while studying for her BSc.(Hons) Food Science Degree in London Gillian successfully secured a prestigious research post in Nutrition and Heart Disease with the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Belfast.
She qualified with a Masters Degree (MSc.) in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland 1997. Her specialist training was in The Charter Mark award winning Dietetic Department at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital, London. Her successful career spans throughout Hospitals in Northern Ireland, specialising in; Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Paediatrics, Cancer and laterly the Lead Specialist Dietitian for the Regional Haematology Unit at BCH.
After starting a family, she decided to set up her Dietetic Consultancy Service in 2008. Her award winning company now works across the UK, Ireland and worldwide via clinics and Skype. Gillian works at Kingsbridge in Maypole Clinic in Holywood and No.6 Lisburn Road.
Gillian is unique as she specializes in treating the person as a whole integrating gut, brain and cellular optimisation to ensure the body can restore and repair itself. Her own experience with an auto-immune condition after her 3rd pregnancy allowed her to understand what it is like to be a patient and how to overcome this.
Gillian's programmes assist: resistant weight loss, diabetes, heart disease, autoimmune conditions, mental health issues, eating disorders, gut health imbalances, female health, child nutrition, sports optimisation to name a few.
Gillian is media spokesperson for Northern Ireland. She enjoys working in the corporate setting and has specialist work place training to ensure staff are optimal nutritionally in the work place.
Outside of work she enjoys running, sailing, cooking and family time with her 3 children.
