Ultrasound imaging is a non-invasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat a range of medical conditions.

Ultrasound examination does not use radiation (as in X-rays) and is used to show the structure and movement of the body's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels.

• General abdominal/pelvic (tummy)
• Musculoskeletal
• Colour Doppler scanning (shows blood flow)
• Breast imaging
• Peripheral vascular regions such as leg and neck arteries
• Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening

Most ultrasound examinations are quick and painless however you may be required to fast or attend with a full bladder.

Please inform us if you have had a barium enema or upper GI (gastrointestinal) tests within the past two days as these can interfere with the ultrasound test.

A medical referral is required. Please allow 20 minutes for your appointment and results will be issued to the referral source within 48hrs of the scan.
