General Manager - Kingsbridge Training Academy

Kingsbridge Healthcare Group are currently seeking to fill the role of General Manager within the Training Academy Department. The successful candidate will be based at Kingsbridge Private Hospital but may be required to travel to other Company locations as and when required. 

Location Kingsbridge Training Academy ,Falcon Way, Boucher Road Belfast
Salary £29,000 to £30,000 per annum

Hours 37.5 hours (evening and weekends may be required on an ad hoc basis – employees will receive time of lieu)

Accountable to Head of Kingsbridge Training Academy

Job Summary

This role is pivotal in the day to day running of the Training Academy and accordingly will need to exercise management over, internal processes, income generation, infrastructure, communications, and personnel. 

This role must directly support the Head of Kingsbridge Training Academy and together ensure that the Training Academy functions as an autonomous organisation while working within the Kingsbridge Healthcare Group. 

This role requires someone with energy, passion and ambition to drive this expanding business to the next level including working with staff to continuously provide high quality training programmes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operationally responsible for monitoring and delivering activity within Kingsbridge Training Academy 
  • Manage existing clients to ensure that clients’ needs are met, strong relationships are developed, and additional business opportunities are maximised, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Manage and operationally deliver specific business areas and projects within the Company as instructed by the Head of Kingsbridge Training Academy.
  • Research the target market to identify new customers to target
  • Monitor sales performance to maximise potential profits
  • Identify problem areas in the business and take remedial action in a flexible, supportive and pro-active manner
  • Assist with the preparation of tenders and bids
  • Attract and recruit associate trainers to expand training portfolio 
  • Willing to ensure that course evolution is maintained from the initial concept through to deployment
  • Able to demonstrate or rapidly acquire a comprehensive understanding of medical training locally and nationally alongside the various non-medical opportunities that exist.
  • Work with the Business Development Manager on marketing, developments, and events
  • Work with the Training Coordinators to expand course portfolio, geographical reach and gain accreditations 
  • Work with the Training Coordinators to ensure that the scheduling and programming of courses are delivered in line with KPI’s
  • Responsible for the logistical organisation of training courses (to include stock, equipment, faculty, and hospitality). Monitoring completion of tasks by the Training Coordinators and Training Administrator.
  • Schedule and convene internal meetings 
  • Train and supervise employees providing guidance and contribute to the feedback of their performance.
  • Creating reports (with the Business Development Manager) on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis for the Head of Kingsbridge Training Academy.

Person Specification




  • 3 A Levels (A – C)


  • Education to degree level




  • A minimum of 2 year’s relevant management experience 
  • Experience of delivering projects to deadlines/ targets


  • 5 years relevant management experience


Special Knowledge and Skills


  • Proficiency in the use of MS Packages including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent customer service skills and an ability to impress
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A proven ability to build and manage teams


  • Additional knowledge of training or course development
