Kingsbridge Private Hospital Sligo has now fully reopened for consultations, treatments and surgery as of the 1st July 2020.
 

To ensure patients and staff are kept safe we have introduced a range of strict health and safety measures including:

 

  • Screening on arrival for high temperatures and coughs
  • Protective Screening and additional PPE gear for staff
  • Covid-19 testing for patients prior to general anaesthetic procedures
  • Additional Sanitisation at entrances, exits and around the hospital
  • Extensive Cleaning throughout the hospital on a regular basis

Keeping you safe during your next visit

When you next visit us, you will find some things a little different. We have put new protocols in place to protect you and our team. Here is what you can expect to happen.
 

  • Wait until your appointment

Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment. You may be asked to wait outside and then be called forward by text or phone.
 

  • Reception team

Our reception staff may be wearing protective equipment such as a mask or visor. There will also be a screen in front of the desk.
 

  • Let’s check it is safe to see you

You will be asked some questions about your health and have your temperature checked.
 

  • Sanitise your hands

You will be asked to use a hand sanitiser.
 

  • Practise social distancing

To aid social distancing, you will not be able to use all the chairs in our waiting areas and will be encouraged to attend your appointment alone if possible. We are currently not allowing any visitors to our Wards.
 

  •  Maintaining our usual high standards

Infection control remains a priority. PPE and enhanced decontamination measures take longer so please be understanding.
 

  • Our new uniforms

At our appointment, our clinical staff will be waring additional protective equipment that may include a mask, visor and gown. But don’t worry, it is just to keep everyone safe.
 

  • Once we have finished

After you have finished your appointment, please leave reception so we can prepare for the next patient.

The safety of our patients and visitors is our number one priority. Your healthcare is essential and we are actively working with and following heath and safety guidance to ensure you are kept safe.

If you have an appointment and do not have symptoms, please continue to attend the hospital as normal unless we advise otherwise. This website is updated regularly.

PLEASE NOTE: A no visitor policy is in effect from 15 March 2020

Relatives, visitors, accompanying persons are not permitted in the hospital or clinical buildings unless absolutely necessary. If a patient requires support from another person, the screening also applies to this person. This is in place in both inpatient and outpatient areas.


Additional precautions and concerns:
If any person exhibits or communicates any COVID-19 symptoms, however mild, they must be advised that they cannot proceed and must leave, go home and follow the “stay at home” guidance. Please do not attend your hospital appointment if you are showing any symptoms.

 

  • If you have symptoms of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), however mild, do not leave your home for 10 days from when your symptoms started. This action will help protect others in your community while you are infectious.
  • If you live with others and you or one of them have symptoms of coronavirus, then all other household members must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill.
  • People who have symptoms of COVID-19 are now eligible to be tested for it. More information on testing is available from the HSE Covid 19 Testing and Contact Tracing Roadmap website
  • After 10 days, or longer, if you still have symptoms other than cough or loss of sense of smell/taste, you must continue to self-isolate until you feel better.
  • You do not need to self-isolate if you only have a cough or loss of sense of smell/taste after 10 days, as these symptoms can last for several weeks after the infection has gone.
  • Further guidance on when you should end your self-isolation period is available on the HSE website
