Healthcare Assistant - Outpatients Department

Due to continued expansion and increased workload, Kingsbridge Private Hospital North West are now seeking to recruit additional Healthcare Assistants for their Outpatient department. The role(s) will be based in their Ballykelly site. There maybe opportunity to assist in areas such as Ophthalmology, Cardiology and Outpatients Clinics.

Hours 37.5 per week: Mon – Sun (Shift Basis)
Responsible to Outpatients Manager
Accountable to General Manager

Job Summary

To actively participate in the provision of a high quality, effective and efficient Outpatient Service. You will be working in the generalised department with a variety of specialities, monitoring care and treatment for patients attending Consultations and procedures. The post holder will ensure that high standards of service and care are maintained in accordance with the Company ethos and practice.

You will be working in the generalised department with a variety of specialities, monitoring care and treatment for patients attending Consultations and procedures. The post holder will ensure that high standards of service and care are maintained in accordance with the Company ethos and practice.

 Key Responsibilities:

To set and maintain high standards of personalised patient care.

Work under the direction of the Registered Nurse and assist in the implementation of care according to the patient’s individual care/treatment plan.

Work in an effective and efficient way with stock/consumables.

Utilising appropriate Hospital policies, procedures and guidelines.

Keep other departments informed of any changes in consultants clinics/ patients attending/change of circumstances.

Maintain high level of communication and work collaboratively with clinical staff, relatives and other departments.

Assist in the maintenance of a high standard of cleanliness within the Unit.

Chaperone as and when required, assisting in procedures. (Ophthalmology, Cardiology and Outpatients Clinics)

Carry out audit, research and other quality initiatives

Carrying out of ECGs

Ordering stock (Stores, Pharmacy)

Preparing documentation and bloods/samples ready for collection

Ability to motivate and initiate change in others.

Ability and willingness to keep up to date of new developments within a growing industry.

Awareness of governance issues that reflect safe practice and reduction of any potential risks.

Adherence to privacy, confidentiality, informed consent and security policies.

Ability to tailor communication to the patient needs.

The Successful applicant will need to be flexible in their approach to cover shifts required.

Have access to own transport and willing to travel if required to other locations.
