Manus Mac Gabhann has over 12 years of experience working as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. He has worked in private practices in Dublin and Donegal. He also owned and ran his own private clinic before joining Kingsbridge Private Hospital North West and has worked in the hospital on the orthopaedic wards and outpatients department for the past 6 years.
Manus was the Senior Lead Physiotherapist in at the private acute care clinic in the VHI Swiftcare in Dundrum for over 3 years. He has worked in many different sporting teams as the lead physiotherapist varying form Irish Volleyball team, UCD Soccer team, Bective Rangers Rugby and most recently as the Donegal Senior Men’s football team up until 2018.
Manus also had the privilege of working with Cara Cheshire Homes, looking after those with physical and mental disabilities varying for Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson, Stroke, MS and MND.
Manus is trained and qualified in Acupuncture, Dry needling, Mulligan and Cyriax treatment techniques. He is also qualified to assess lower limb biomechanics and make specialist prescribed orthotics (insoles) when required.
Manus is a keen sportsperson and has played and coached in a variety of sports from rugby, football, Gaelic football, hurling and most recently golf. In his free time he enjoys spending my time with his wife, his son and daughter as much as possible. He also enjoys going to the gym, running and a round of golf.
These research findings were presented to the Irish Medical Sports Council at the annual Sports and Exercise Medicine Conference in The Royal College of Surgeons in September 2009.
